| The First Baptist Church Scholarship Endowment Fund was chartered in September 1992 with a gift of $10,000 from Thomas Trollinger, in honor of his mother, Lillie Bell Trollinger, and his mother- in-law, Lola Bell Haith. •︎ This gift was given with the stipulation that the fund would be fully endowed at $100,000. •︎ After which, interest would be used to award scholarships to college-bound First Baptist Church high school graduates. •︎ Thanks to God’s blessings and the faithful contributions of our congregation, the fund grew to full endowment in 2016. The first scholarships from the fund’s earnings were awarded in the summer of 2017, and since that time, we have awarded over $31,000 in scholarships! |
